Art of Jan - 2025-2023

I have loved this subject for a long time, and I finally completed it in October 2025.  He lives in the Sanctuary in Alberta, Canada.  I called him Wisdom & Knowledge.  Scratchboard for the wolf and Watercolour for the background, and Ink for the foreground.  18x24inches.

this little Meerkat lives in the Melbourne Zoo.  This one was so cute and playful.  Really a very endearing as creatures Meerkats are.  Although I added the little butterfly, he was looking at the webs on the tree.  Scratchboard & WC. 8x10 inches.

The Afghanistan Tribesman. One of the tallest people I have met. This image was aided by my friend Rod Hearne - as I had lost all of my photographs from my African journeys. Rod travelled on motorbike with some friends, again in the same period I did in the 70's. and I was fortunate to see this image he took, as it was so near to what I remembered during my travels in the 70's! so I worked from my memory and used Rod's photographs - he had a few - and I managed to capture this fellow I believe. Little to no teeth, but a huge personality. I used watercolour on board.

Storms of what dreams are! Dramatic and dangerous, but stunning to look at. This was a lot of fun to do, so much rain, and it was so colourful. The raindrop looks painted1 Daniel Smith watercolours on Claybord. Summer storms are brilliant on Phillip Island, and it is hard to capture everthing, this one was over the sea and I guess some of the surf was being sucked up, hence the drama in colours. Mountain Goat of the US. He was very determined not to move - so we had a rest from our long drive in the mountains. I used watercolour in the background and pastel for the mighty beast. He did move after 1/2 an hour! Wonderful moment.

"Cinque Terre Cat" - a delightful little Italian creature, which was rather tired of all the the visitors to the area.  She was sitting in a basket amongst a lot of merchandise, however didn't let me look at anything, but I loved her look and did pity all of the attention.  Scratchboard & WC  11x14 inches.  Aug 2023.

"Think again!....Monie, our dearest little rescue cat.  Always a energetic and appears friendly miss, however you just need to look and not touch!  Cuddles only in the mornings, she was in my studio sitting on my desk, and I could not reside taking this photograph of her which I used for this image.  Scratchboard and WC.  11 x 14 inches. What you doing? Two cockatoos, This pair often are seen on our property, always inquisitive and wrecking something! But are a delight, however the fence was rather mutilated! Scratchboard and DS Watercolors. Started this in Nov. Completed this 1/24

Dwarfed by Giants! - "Giants Playground", Monument valley is a overwhelming stunning place. One feels so insignificant. The last signs of winter in the melting snow. The stillness in the air - breathtaking! Watercolor on Ampersand Claybord. 11x14 inches. completed Feb 2023.

France - meeting old friends. this amazing city of Moulins France. One of my favourite places - it is so stunning, the buildings, and most have stood for hundreds of years; it was a cold day; and the crowds were staying within buildings, but it was something a little special.
