Afghan Craftsman - Scratchboard & ink by JLowe 16x20inch

Completed Craftsman, this man was making trinkets to sell at the local market in Afghanistan. 18x24in Scratchboard & ink. This was from a photograph by Rod Hearn (like me he spend time travelling in this region), more recent than my 1970 exploits! I modeled him to the man I remember from my visit, what I remember that he was extremely tall, and his tools were primitive but he produced delicate objects, his craftsmanship was stunning.

Well, not sure about this one, it is of my big brother, but it did it without him knowing, so I need to work on him again. It is good to see old work so you can keep developing! Pastel on board
